COMMUNITY NEWS

  • A local church opened the Oakwood Community Day Center in High Point to provide essential support for homeless residents after years of planning.  The High Point Enterprise
  • Students, staff and volunteers at High Point University honored veterans during their annual celebration by sharing activities that showed deep gratitude for military service—supporters and honorees came together in a meaningful tribute.  The High Point Enterprise
  • Tim Gulledge hopes the 2025 High Point Veterans Day Parade — set for Sunday — will pay tribute to the local veterans who served and sacrificed. The parade will honor these heroes in High Point.  The High Point Enterprise
  • Gilmore Shows is hosting a holiday market at First Horizon Coliseum with hundreds of vendors offering gifts, jewelry, clothing, gourmet foods, decorations and crafts. Santa will be on site for photos while tickets cost $10 for those 13 and older, $1 for children 6 to 12 and free for children under 6; the market runs until 8 p.m. on Friday and is open on Saturday and Sunday.  WXII 12

BUSINESS NEWS

  • PNC Bank plans a comeback in Winston-Salem and the Triad with 12 new branches by 2030 and will add between 100 and 120 jobs because each branch usually hires 8 to 10 employees (average per branch).  News & Record

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Guilford County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 20 to gather input on a charter airline company's plan to renovate a vacant building on Market Street in Greensboro+ if approved, the project will cost over $6.9 million and add 122 full-time jobs.  WXII 12
  • NCDHHS announced Friday that the USDA will fully fund November SNAP benefits so additional funds will be added to EBT cards as soon as this weekend — more than 586000 households had received reduced payments, and officials are now processing the remaining benefits to help families buy groceries.  WFMY News 2
