CRIME NEWS

  • Rockingham County Sheriff Sam Page has been under investigation by the NC SBI since July — officials have not released details and his office did not respond to a comment request.  WFMY News 2

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • High Point City Council is voting on a $3.3 million federal grant that could add 24 firefighters over the next four years. The firefighters' union said staffing shortages forced a temporary station shutdown this summer — if approved, the city will match part of the federal funds for new uniforms and gear.  WXII 12
  • On Monday, High Point City Council approved an incentive award to assist with the possible expansion of the Cohab Space art and design campus.  The High Point Enterprise

  • The Guilford County Division of Public Health is offering appointments in High Point for the seasonal flu vaccine for anyone 6 months and older.  The High Point Enterprise
