  • High Point University said it received over $195 million in major gifts, including $37 million in the last quarter + setting a record for the school.  The High Point Enterprise
  • North Carolina A&T State University is hosting its 2025 AI Conference in Greensboro to explore the theme 'Exponential Intelligence' and discuss ways to boost disaster recovery and improve infrastructure after Hurricane Helene. Researcher Yuhan Jiang explained that AI uses image object detection to help city engineers quickly locate damage — a technique that could speed up repairs in future disasters.  WXII 12

  • High Point University's esports club meets at the Nido R. Qubein School of Communication and is growing its role in college competitions—its teams won the 2024 Big South Champions tournament in Overwatch, League of Legends, Valorant, and Rocket League and now use video reviews to improve.  ABC45
  • The High Point Rockers beat the Gastonia Ghost Peppers eight to one in Game 5 of the Atlantic League South Division Playoffs on Thursday night at Truist Point and will face York Revolution in the championship series starting Saturday at 6:30 p.m. The team hopes to win its first professional baseball title for High Point since 1968—a win that will lift local spirits.  WFMY News 2
