- ➤ State House and Senate lawmakers introduced competing bills on Sunday to fill the Medicaid rebase gap that may force provider cuts if funds are not raised before Oct. 1. State health officials warned that without extra dollars, cuts on Medicaid could hurt care—legislators will debate cost-saving measures during the extra session from Monday through Thursday.
