  • Children's Home Society has launched a new podcast called In Real Life: Foster Care Unfiltered—featuring raw voices from foster and adoptive parents to inspire community support. New episodes will be released every other Tuesday.  WXII 12

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Guilford County Commissioners approved an economic incentive package for Lenovo yesterday to help the company expand operations in the Triad—creating 420 jobs.  WFMY News 2

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Peeler-Hampton Visual and Performing Arts Elementary School is built on the site of the former Peeler Open Elementary & the new facility replaces the one lost when a tornado destroyed it in 2018.  WFMY News 2
  • Wake Forest University announced that beginning fall 2026, North Carolina students from families earning under $200,000 will attend tuition-free and those with incomes below $100,000 will receive aid for living expenses. The initiative named the North Carolina Gateway to Wake Forest University will help expand access to higher education and reduce reliance on student loans.  WFMY News 2
  • A High Point public school employee won a top honor at Guilford County Schools’ annual Celebration of Excellence on Wednesday night — the award recognized her outstanding service in her school.  The High Point Enterprise
