EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ WFMY News 2’s Manning Franks reported that Guilford County Schools were included in the NCDPI accountability report for 2024-25 — he shared key details on school performance and accountability measures. More information is expected as further results are released. WFMY News 2
- ➤ North Carolina released school report cards for the 2024-25 school year, and Guilford County schools reported that 86 of 111 met or exceeded growth expectations + officials plan to use the results to guide student support efforts. WFMY News 2
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The YMCA of Greensboro and North Carolina A&T State University School of Nursing launched the second phase of Wellness Wednesdays on Sept. 3, offering free health screenings and wellness education at Reidsville Family YMCA and Spears Family YMCA in Guilford and Rockingham counties every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.—the program has already served over 200 community members—and will expand its reach in 2026.
