EDUCATION NEWS

  • Guilford County Schools will start classes on Monday, Aug. 25 as students return to nearly full staffing and new buildings at Kiser Middle School and Peeler-Hampton Visual and Performing Arts School open under a $2 billion bond project—additional initiatives like career labs and the Guilford Guarantee will offer college credits and hands-on experiences to help students explore new opportunities in aviation and technology.  WXII 12
  • North Carolina law requires children to be vaccinated for school but lets parents choose an exemption by using a doctor’s signed form for medical cases or a personal statement for religious reasons – schools must receive these documents within 30 days of a child's start to avoid suspension.  WFMY News 2
