  • After announcing plans last month to stop operations, clock manufacturer Howard Miller will close its High Point and Lexington facilities on November 2—this move will affect 42 employees, including 39 at the High Point facility on Jarrell Street.   • Several Triad companies are restructuring after pressure from private equity firms—Qorvo will close its Greensboro wafer fabrication plant as part of job cuts while Culp and Primo are consolidating operations to meet investor demands.   • The Davidson County Health Department confirmed the first rabies case of 2025 when a fox that attacked a resident and their dog in High Point tested positive for the virus. The resident received post-exposure treatment and the vaccinated dog got a booster dose — officials urge pet owners to check vaccination records as low-cost vaccines are available at 490 Glendale Road in Lexington.  ABC45
