- ➤ Gildan Activewear is in talks to acquire HanesBrands for nearly $5 billion, and the deal could be announced by the end of this week. Both companies already have a strong presence in the Triad — sources from the Financial Times and Bloomberg reported this development. WXII 12
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ UNCSA filmmaking students plan a documentary on the High Point Market; they will start a research phase at the October market in 2025—filming is set for the April market in 2026. News & Record
- ➤ High Point University announced on Tuesday that three global company leaders will serve as commencement speakers for ceremonies in the coming year — President Nido Qubein made the announcement during a campus program. The High Point Enterprise
- ➤ Infinite Campus is a new statewide school system replacing PowerSchool after a major data breach in December 2024 — it began in year-round schools in July and will be used by everyone on August 25th. The system adds stronger security with two-factor authentication and lets parents easily upload enrollment documents. WXII 12
