CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Summer heat is raising vehicle interior temperatures, and North Carolina authorities report that a foster mother in Hamlet is charged for allegedly leaving a 7-month-old in a minivan while a mother in Greensboro left her child in a car, leaving the child in critical condition, and a pet died in Moore County on July 24 — experts warn that these hot car tragedies are rising and urge families to check the back seat before locking up. - ➤ A Randleman man named Tristan Greene, 28, was arrested after deputies responded on July 22 to reports of an assault on Davis Country Road—he faces felony assault by strangulation and misdemeanor assault charges, was taken to the Randolph County Detention Center on July 25, received a $2,500 secured bond on July 27 and is due in court on Aug. 4. - ➤ On July 2, officers responded to a call on Hooper Road in McLeansville where they found a juvenile fatally shot, and on July 21 Karell Harrington was arrested and charged with second degree murder while on July 24 Micah Scott Douglas was arrested and charged with felony accessory after the fact—both are being held at the Guilford County Detention Center as the investigation continues.
