Good morning, High Point. Here's your local news at a glance for Saturday, the 26th of July.

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Local butcheries are raising beef prices because there are fewer cows and more buyers; Mitchell’s Butchery in Walnut Cove has increased rib-eye prices from $18.99 to $28.99 per pound — a shift driven by a drop in cows and lost farmland. The Mitchells noted that while demand for cheaper cuts like hamburger is growing, customers still expect fresh, local meat.  WXII 12
