ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Tropical Storm Chantal dropped heavy rain on parts of the Triad, causing flash flooding that pushed the Haw River close to its record crest of 32.47 feet and forced traffic detours on I-40/85 in Alamance County. The storm prompted tornado warnings with two confirmed touchdowns — one near the Raleigh Executive Jetport in Lee County and another in Chatham County as lingering rain continued to fall. WXII 12
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ NC DMV warned local drivers about fraudulent text messages asking for payment of fines, fees, or tolls — residents are urged to delete these texts, report them as spam, and verify any DMV communications through official channels. ABC45
