- ➤ North Carolina’s redistricting trial ended its first week as Sen. Kandie Smith testified about the 2019 committee that used a lottery ball machine to set districts—Chairman Ralph Hise said the committee used political data from three past elections instead of racial data. The trial will last about a month and more updates will be provided. WXII 12
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Guilford County Division of Public Health will host a free—confidential testing clinic for sexually transmitted infections in High Point on June 26. Residents can attend—receive testing at no cost—to protect their health. The High Point Enterprise
- ➤ Guilford County officials reported a rise in heat-related injuries as temperatures climb and said emergency calls could reach 10 per day over the next 10 days. They urge residents to wear light clothing, stay hydrated and use cooling stations set up in collaboration with nonprofits—especially for children, the elderly and the homeless. ABC45
