- ➤ On May 30th, scattered storms moved into the Mountain and Foothills by 2 p.m. and continued east into the Piedmont Triad from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.—some storms were strong with wind gusts over 58 mph, large hail, and a slight 5% tornado risk while heavy rain caused flash flooding in some areas.
