Good morning, High Point.

William Rhew III from Summerfield pleaded guilty on Tuesday to charges including wire fraud, money laundering, securities fraud and tax crimes in a Ponzi scheme that defrauded 117 investors of at least $24 million+ misused for personal expenses, and he is scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 22nd.

Residents in High Point will need to prepare for high winds as hurricane season will begin June 1 — meteorologist Brian Slocum advises trimming trees, repairing loose siding, and securing outdoor objects to reduce damage.

Locals should monitor weather updates and follow official instructions when tropical storm or hurricane warnings are issued.

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist will hold a free skin cancer screening today from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at its High Point Dermatology Clinic at 5826 Samet Drive—Suite 103.
