Here's your local news at a glance for Monday, the 5th of May.
Good morning, High Point.
💼 Business
Jamie Crumley of Harpley's Meat Processing and Taxidermy said her business was hurt when the USDA ended the grants that helped small farms sell beef to local schools and food banks — an action that put her $80,000 investment and contract plans at risk.
She noted the change affected over 8,000 small farms and could force her staff of 15 into layoffs — a setback for the local food supply network.
