SPORTS NEWS

  • North Carolina A&T cheerleaders won a national championship when they competed April 9–13 in Daytona, Florida and earned the Intermediate small co-ed division 1 title; they became the first HBCU team to win the title twice (back-to-back wins) (a rare achievement).  WXII 12
  • Brayden Jeffries of Dudley has earned Division I recruiting interest by playing multiple roles in both baseball and football, saying he always plays where his team needs him. He follows a strict routine that starts at 5 a.m. with a hearty breakfast and daily workouts, which has helped him grow into a leader on the field.  News & Record
