ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A crash on Idols Road in Clemmons caused a car to flip and hit a house—triggering a gas leak that closed roads as multiple fire departments and law enforcement agencies work to control the leak. WXII 12
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ GCS approved a new school budget proposal—this plan adds safety vestibules in 10 elementary schools. WFMY News 2
- ➤ Today, nearly 200 elementary students from Jefferson and Guilford schools showcased inventions to Honda engineers at Honda Aircraft Company as part of the Children's Innovation Project, with interactive exhibits, student demonstrations, and one winning invention called the Muncher. Honda will host STEM Fest on May 3 (at the Novant Health Fieldhouse on West Gate City Boulevard in Greensboro) with free entry. WXII 12
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The health department will offer another round of walk-in vaccine clinics (to prevent a measles outbreak) in Guilford County. WFMY News 2
- ➤ Officials from the Guilford County Division of Public Health urged parents to ensure school-aged children receive the MMR vaccine as required by state law. The High Point clinic at 501 East Green Drive was open on April 8 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will be open on April 10, April 14 through 17, April 29, April 30 and May 1 + a parent or guardian must be present with each child.
