- ➤ Today the Guilford County sheriff’s office warned the public that scammers are calling inmates’ families asking for money to release their loved ones—at least two families have been affected and authorities say they never request payment by phone. The sheriff urged anyone who receives a suspicious call to contact the sheriff’s office immediately. WXII 12
