- ➤ Rep. Neal Jackson filed House Bill 557 to make The Andy Griffith Show the official state TV show, including a short biography of Andy Griffith plus details about the cast. House Bill 394 cleared a committee on March 26 and will soon make it illegal to drive while holding an animal or distracting a child, with violators fined $100 starting Dec 1. News & Record
- ➤ North Carolina DMV offices in the Triad report no available appointments through June as the May 7 deadline for Real IDs approaches—residents like Mary Stone from Clemmons say they face long waits and are turning to passports for travel until new Saturday walk-in hours start in June.
