- ➤ WSPD is hosting Bike Safe NC Rider Skills Day where motorcycle safety events are planned in partnership with the state to help local riders improve their skills + trained professionals will provide guidance on safe riding techniques. WFMY News 2
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ North Carolina is under its first statewide burn ban in over three years because very dry weather is raising wildfire risks—fire marshals say that burning yard debris or campfires can start fires quickly, especially in western areas with blocked roads. The ban will stay in effect until enough rain or humidity returns and repeat violators may face fines starting at $50. WFMY News 2

- ➤ Cone Health CEO Dr. Mary Jo Cagle will step down due to a serious family health matter with her final day set for May 31; interim CEO Bernard "Bernie" Sherry, who has led operations as COO since December, will take over on June 1—Cone Health has launched a nationwide search for a new CEO. Cagle, the first woman and physician in the role, guided the system through the COVID-19 pandemic and major reforms. YES! Weekly
- ➤ The NC Dental Society Foundation will hold a Missions of Mercy dental clinic at a High Point church on March 28th to offer complimentary care to adults in need. Free services provided by volunteer dentists are expected to help those without regular access to dental care. News & Record
