  • Food Lion broke ground Monday in Burlington on an 860 million dollars distribution center in Guilford County that will create 500 jobs. The 1M sqft facility will support 300 stores and relieve pressure on current operations, with construction underway and opening planned for 2029.  ABC45

CULTURE NEWS

  • Thankful Heritage Museum hosts 'To Form a More Perfect Union: 10 Milestones of the Modern Civil Rights Era,' featuring 2,000+ artifacts & stamps that mark African American history. It runs throughout February at the High Point Museum Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with free admission.  WFMY News 2

EDUCATION NEWS

  • UNCG, SparkNC + Guilford County Schools have announced SparkHub, a new learning space at UNCG campus that will give K-12 students hands-on experience in high-demand tech fields, with training starting soon.  WFMY News 2
  • SparkHub launched at UNCG Tuesday to offer Guilford County K-12 students hands-on tech experience. The program will let them work on project-based lessons in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and game design with partners such as Apple, IBM and Cisco.  WFMY News 2
