Guilford County Schools are cleaning up winter storm damage by spreading 120,000 pounds of salt and shoveling 1,500 acres of property; the work is ongoing today on school grounds.

Meteorologists say a winter storm may rapidly intensify into a bomb cyclone near the Outer Banks this weekend — coastal areas may see heavy snow, strong winds and minor flooding.

The uncertain storm track could also affect parts of our region.
