- ➤ About six monks are on a 2,300-mile walk for peace, having left Fort Worth on Oct. 26 and now passing through our Piedmont Triad; they plan to reach Washington, D.C. on Feb. 11 and recently reunited in Charlotte with Aloka+ a dog recovering from surgery. WXII 12

- ➤ High Point University honored MLK Monday, Jan. 19 with service projects and a community breakfast hosted at the Nido and Mariana Qubein Arena Conference Center — students and staff then packed meals and repainted classrooms at High Point Central High School. WXII 12
